Havendale

Nestled along the windswept coast of the Everlong Sea, lies a quaint fishing village that Jacob and Robin call home. Once a thriving waystation for Gont, the village has since fallen on hard times due to the eternal winter.

Despite this, the villagers are a tight-knit community that looks out for one another, and their pride and joy is the Great Temple to "The One True God"  that dominated the square.  Perched precariously on a cliffs edge, a ramshackle hut covered in mysterious symbols and markings is the home to Maganwyth, a suspected witch rumored to possess great knowledge of magic.

Despite the villagers fears and superstitions many secretly seek her out for remedies and guidance. But they always leave quickly, wary of the dark shadows that seem to linger in her presence.

The White Tower

The White Tower is a legendary spire that pierces the sky with its white stone and glows an ethereal light. Stories tell of its mystical powers, shrouded in magic, and protected by powerful enchantments. Only the most skilled and dedicated are said to be able to locate it.

According to ancient tales, the tower was once a place of learning by those chosen by the gods. The magical orb at the top of the tower, made of pure cold magic is believed to be the source of the towers power, which brings about an eternal winter.

Holum

Nestled on the rugged coast of the Everlong Sea lies the infamous town of Holum. Its reputation as a pirate's paradise precedes it, attracting smugglers, vagabonds, and adventurers alike. The salty sea air and golden beaches lure in those seeking a thrill, while its narrow alleys and winding streets lead to ramshackle taverns, each with a tale to tell. Once a military dock for Gont, it has since fallen into disuse, becoming a wild and untamed land where anything goes. The bustling marketplace is a hub of activity with traders hawking exotic wares from all corners of the globe, but danger lurks around every corner in Holum's lawless atmosphere. For those daring enough to take on the risk, Holum offers a sense of freedom and endless adventure, where the only rule is that there are no rules.

Woodvale

Nestled in the Spine Mountains of Gont, Woodvale is a thriving town that never lets the unending winter dampen its spirit. The town owes its prosperity to its timber industry. The abundant forests surrounding it provide an uninterrupted supply of lumber that is highly sought after on the mainland. The town's mastery in woodcraft has allowed them to build robust structures, including efficient infrastructure and charming cottages. The friendly locals are known for their hospitality, making Woodvale a welcoming home to all who visit. At the heart of the town, the grand wooden clock tower stands tall, a symbol of resilience and resourcefulness. With lively markets and bustling streets, Woodvale is a shining example of how a community can thrive against all odds.

Everlong Sea

The Everlong Sea is a majestic and awe-inspiring body of water, surrounded by rugged coastlines that have weathered countless storms and battles. Despite its beauty, the sea is known for its treacherous waters and unpredictable weather, making it a challenge even for the most skilled sailors. Numerous small fishing villages dot the coastline, their residents hardened and resilient to the harsh environment. The sea serves as a vital trading route in the far north, connecting settlements and serving as a lifeline for the empire. Boarded by the Princedom of Gont and the Barony of Talos, the Everlong Sea is a place of wonder and danger, appreciated for its unique beauty and the thrill of adventure it offers.

Wayrest

Wayrest, a thriving metropolis nestled on the coast of the Everlong Sea, is a magnificent sight to behold. Its towering walls are a blend of stone and metal, fortified by skilled soldiers who guard the city with their lives. The bustling streets are alive with the sights and sounds of a diverse population, with people from across the empire and Haulfin servants from far and wide. At the heart of the city stands the magnificent Great Castle Weston, a towering fortress that serves as the seat of power. Its soaring towers and stunning stonework, crafted by the most talented artisans, are a testament to the city's wealth and prosperity. Despite the challenges of crime and corruption, the people of Wayrest remain fiercely loyal to their beloved city, united in their determination to overcome any obstacle.

Fester Hill

Located on a raised hill near the border of Rwelvencrest, Fester Hill is a heavily fortified city designed for pure defence. Surrounded by vast farmlands, the city's dark past has earned it a sinister name, but its importance as a fallback position in times of war cannot be overstated.

Despite its bleak history, the surrounding fields have become very fertile due to the decomposing bodies of fallen soldiers, providing a boon for agriculture in the region. While it may not be the most desirable place to live, Fester Hill serves a crucial role in protecting the Princedom of Gont from external threats.

The Spine Mountains

The Spine Mountains, located at the farthest north of the empire, are a natural wonder that blends beauty with peril. The rugged terrain is marked with perilous slopes, hidden caves, and icy chasms, all shrouded in an eerie silence. Whispers of the fabled Kubra or Yeti echo through the mountains, filling the hearts of locals with fear and intrigue. Some claim that tribes of Haulfin’s who escaped slavery call the mountains their home. The inquisition refutes their existence, chalking it up as seditious rumours.

Rwelvencrest

Rwelvencrest is a land shrouded in darkness, infested with malevolent creatures, and twisted beasts. It's said to be infused with dark magic, and explorers brave enough to venture into its depths rarely return. The neighbouring Princedoms of Gont and Vantoth maintain an army on the border to defend against the horrors that lay within.

Trindon

Trindon, the capital city of Gont, stands as a towering fortress divided into four quarters with distinct characters. The Royal quarter is for the nobles, the merchant's quarter is bustling with traders, the common quarter is where working-class people live, and the lower quarter is a dark and oppressive place for Haulfin slaves. Trindon Castle, a symbol of power and authority, stands at the heart of the city.

Despite inequalities, Trindon showcases the resilience and ingenuity of the Gontish people, serving as a beacon of strength and prosperity in the north.

The Princedom of Gont

The Princedom of Gont is a remote region in the northwest corner of the Empire, known for its resilient people, stunning beauty, and diverse economy based on mining, fishing, farming, and hunting. Despite its poverty and challenges, the inhabitants of Gont are proud of their heritage and deeply resentful of the Empire's heavy-handed rule.

There are ongoing calls for greater autonomy and self-rule, but the church and Inquisition fiercely oppose such efforts, viewing them as a threat to the Empire.

Vantoth

Vantoth, a matriarchal region in the northwest of the Empire, is known for its strong religious faith and devotion to "The One True God." The women of Vantoth are fierce fighters, with men being subservient and tasked with domestic chores. They defend the Empire alongside the soldiers of Gont against the beasts from the neighbouring misty realm of Rwelencrest.

Taros

Located to the south of the Princedom of Gont, the Barony of Taros is a land of both wealth and cruelty. Its baron rules with an iron fist, and the people live in fear of their overlords. With a vibrant slave trade and exploitation of its natural resources, Taros has become a rich and powerful region of the Empire. The Hurk, a species of Hauflin, are prized throughout the Empire for their large size, dim wits, and obedience. Despite its mostly wasteland landscape, Taros has risen to prominence through its access to the great ocean and vast size.

Taros Vs Gont

The Barony of Taros and the Princedom of Gont have a long-standing generational conflict, with tensions simmering between them for centuries. Despite the rare occurrence of open conflict in recent times, Taros has resorted to sponsoring bandits and pirates to attack Gont, further escalating the already strained relationship between the two nations. The situation remains volatile, and both sides continue to prepare for a potential outbreak of hostilities.

Prince William led his forces to the southern border of Gont to meet the invading armies of Taros. After a fierce battle, Prince William's forces were able to repel the enemy and protect their land. However, while his attention was focused on the war, his uncle took advantage of the situation and seized the throne, leaving Prince William with no choice but to flee for his life. The betrayal of his uncle cut deep, leaving Prince William with a sense of bitterness and anger that fuelled his desire to regain his rightful place as ruler of Gont.
