The hunt for the herb
Jacob’s choose your own adventure.
You are Jacob a young boy born into a life of fragility and weakness in the remote fishing village of Havendale. Your frame is slight, Your movements slow, and Your energy levels always low. The other children in the village often teased you for Your frailty, calling you names and pushing you around. But Jacob never let their cruelty get to you. Instead, he focused Your attention on learning about the natural world around you, fascinated by the healing properties of plants and the mysteries of magic.
Despite limitations, you are determined to make something of yourself. You have a sharp mind and a curious spirit, and you spent most of your days assisting Maganwyth, the village healer, with her work. You would fetch herbs and prepare medicines, watching her every move and absorbing every word she spoke. He longed to learn more, to master the secrets of the ancient art of magic, but Maganwyth always held back, refusing to teach you the most powerful spells.
Today like most day you are making your way up towards her cottage, the fog envelopes you as you walked through the silent streets of Havendale, sending shivers down your spine. You make your way to Maganwyth’s cottage on the outskirts of the village, your footsteps echoing through the empty streets.
Approaching the cottage, you saw Maganwyth standing in the doorway, her eyes serious and her face twisted with worry. “Jacob,” she said urgently. “I need your help.”
You feel a chill run through your body. Maganwyth had always been cautious with her words, never one to ask for help lightly. “What do you need?” you asked.
“There’s a special herb that I need from the forest,” Maganwyth explained. “It’s a dangerous journey, but I cannot trust anyone else to do it. Will you help me?”
